Smoother mover
8:30 p.m. — First Block of Prosperity Lane. Burglary. A couple reported they were in the process of moving out when they returned to their former residence to find their washer and dryer missing. Upon further inspection of the residence, it was determined that two framed art drawings, a hair straightener, a shower head and two vacuums were also missing.

A deputy responded and noticed a bathroom window on the left side of the residence was partially open with the screen missing. The deputy located the severely damaged screen from the back yard and lifted two prints from the outside window.

The victims did not have serial numbers for their washer and dryer. They both completed witness statements. Neighbors were unable to provide any information relevant to the case.

Sept. 19

Messy marauders
7:10 a.m. — 2000 Block of County Road 13. Burglary. A victim reported that a business she worked at had been burglarized sometime between when the last employee had left around 5:20 p.m. the night before and 7 a.m. the following morning.

The first employees to arrive on the scene that day were part of a car pool group. They found the lock that secures the gate in front of the business cut and the chain that holds the gate together missing from the scene. One employee approached the front door and used his shirt to pull on the door handle, expecting it to be open, but found the front door locked. He used his key to the office and made entry into the office. Upon entering, he noticed that the desk had papers everywhere and everything was a mess. There were no signs of forced entry within the office.

The employee proceeded to where all the tools are kept in a locked supply room and found the lock on that door cut as well. Inside, two plastic trash cans had been emptied with the trash dumped on the floor and the back door was found to be left unlocked.

A total of approximately $500 of items was reported missing to deputies. The employees provided written statements and an inventory of missing items but no evidence was taken because employees had gone through the scene.
