Dec. 23
Paper-less
4:35 p.m. — 4900 Block of Belle Terre Parkway. Larceny shoplifting. Two witnesses advised that they saw a woman enter the store with reusable grocery bags. While in the paper products aisle, she selected paper towels and toilet paper and placed them in her bag. She then walked toward the front of the store, passed all points of sale without paying for her items, and exited the store.
The woman was apprehended for shoplifting at which time they discovered she also selected dog treats and oil incense. The total amount of merchandise stolen was $29.46. The woman was placed under arrest for retail theft, and released with a notice to appear.
No mail for you
3:01 p.m. — First Block East Diamond Drive. Theft. A woman reported that when she came home, she saw that her mailbox was empty with the flag still up. She also stated that she found a piece of mail ripped up on the ground down the street.
While speaking with the officer, another man approached stating that his mother, who lives on the same block, also had her mail taken. The woman stated that she had 10 Christmas cards in the mailbox that were taken. She stated that her son found six of them in the swale in front of her house.
There were multiple occurrences throughout the area; however, the precise number is unknown.
Something fishy
9:48 a.m. — 4900 Block of Belle Terre Parkway. Larceny shoplifting. An employee advised that he witnessed a woman enter the store with a large purse that appeared empty. He observed her use it to conceal various items. The items included sea scallops, two packages of salmon and various spices. The total of all stolen items was $68.10.
Once the items were in her purse, she attempted to leave the store without the intent to pay for said items, passing all point of sale. The woman was placed under arrest for retail theft, and released with a notice to appear.

Santa stolen
7:57 a.m. — First Block of Flaxton Lane. Larceny. A victim advised that when he woke up and walked ouside, he discovered that someone had stolen the 4-foot plastic Santa Claus from his driveway. The holiday decoration lights up and was plugged into his Christmas lights beside the garage door. There was a 20-pound weight inside to prevent the decoration from blowing over in the wind. The item was valued at $20.

Took the money and ran
6:11 p.m. — First Block of Collingwood Lane. Burglary. A victim stated that he returned home to find that his resdience had been broken into. A few items in the garage had been knocked over, and the garage window was partially open. Several items were stolen from the residence, including a digital camera, a bass drum set pedal, several items of jewelry and $100 in cash. Items all throughout the home were in disarray and strewn about.

Urine for it
6:45 p.m.—1000 Block of Justice Lane. Criminal mischief. A deputy reported that while transporting a suspect for aggravated domestic battery to the Flagler County Inmate Facility, the suspect appeared to be intoxicated and was constantly advising that he was HIV positive. The suspect was argumentative while en route and began spitting in the back of the patrol car. While waiting to be processed, the suspect urinated in the back of the patrol car.
After the suspect was removed from the car, the deputy noticed that his issued traffic vest and transport belt were covered in spit. The vest and belt were removed and properly discarded.
