9 p.m. — 5000 Block of East State Road 100. Suspicious incident. An employee at a restaurant said a suspect pulled up at the drive-thru and attempted to pay for food using a $100 bill that looked suspicious. The money was tested with a currency pen and shown to be accurate but appeared to be very old and questionable. A deputy was unable to determine whether the suspect knew he was in possession of a counterfeit bill, and no charges were pressed. The counterfit bill was identified as having a George Washington face in the center and an Abraham Lincoln face in the hologram, and it showed a currency strip embedded in the bill that read “5 dollars” instead of “100 dollars.” The bill was taken into possession and stored as evidence at the Flagler County Operations Center.
