911, that's not an emergency

1:18 a.m. — 300 block of Timberline Trail, Ormond Beach

Misuse of 911 services. A 52-year-old Ormond Beach woman is facing a misdemeanor charge after making 171 calls to 911 in a three-week period.

According to a police report, the most recent call surrounded a complaint that all her neighbors were "bickering" in the area. She called 911 four times that night, with the first call occurring at 1:18 a.m. and the fourth at 3:05 a.m.

The report notes that during her third call, the dispatcher informed her that law enforcement would come to her house if she kept calling the emergency line, "to which she was very unhappy about and disconnected the call."

During her fourth and final call that night, she made "nonsensical statements" about Christians and Pagans.

Police reported the woman has at least one prior charge for misusing the 911 system. As police were writing the report, the woman called 911 a fifth time — at 3:42 a.m., to report more bickering.

One man's trash...

Theft. Police responded to an Ormond Beach home after two citizens reported an unknown suspect had stolen their trash cans.

The residents said that the suspect walked onto their property sometime in the early afternoon and emptied six of their trash cans into a dumpster in the driveway. The suspect then took all of the trash cans, along with two coolers, a yard cart and a package that had been delivered to the front door.

The value of the items stolen totaled $999, according to the police report. The residents wished to pursue charges.
