He was instructed by the suspect, who told him he was the bank's "security," to tell bank employees that the withdrawal was for medical issues. Disorderly intoxication. A call about a large group of teenagers swimming in a park pond ended in the arrest of two drunk Daytona Beach teenagers.
According to a police report, a witness was walking on a path near where the juveniles were swimming. Initially, the teens greeted him, but the witness said that a couple of them engaged in a confrontation, during which the teens called him names. He spotted of alcohol and notified police.
Upon officers' arrival, the teens were still swimming in the pond, which has "no swimming" signs at various locations. One of the teens, a 16-year-old boy, was standing by a bench with an open bottle of whisky. In total, police encountered eight juveniles near the water.
The majority of teens said that the two teenage boys arrested — who are 16 and 17 — were trying to peer pressure them into drinking, even as they refused. They said they didn't know the teens.
Police attempted to detain the 16-year-old, at which point he tried to run away and was taken down to the ground. Meanwhile, an officer noticed the 17-year-old messing with his backpack; police report he was attempting to hide alcohol. The 17-year-old then approached police and said, "Handcuff me fam" — though he also then resisted arrest, police report.
The boys were taken to the hospital for medical clearance before being taken to the county's Family Resource Center.
