An Ormond Beach woman arrested in Palm Coast on June 15 was found to have hidden six syringes and two grams of fentanyl in a sock in her genitals.
Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies pulled over Jessica Reno, 34, when a patrol car's automatic license plate reader indicated the plate on her pickup truck belonged to a different vehicle. When deputies ran her license, it came up as suspended and her vehicle's registration was expired, a FCSO press release said.
Deputies placed Reno under arrest and searched her in field, where Reno told deputies she did not have any narcotics or weapons on her person, the press release said.
But as Reno was being booked at the Flagler County jail, a more thorough search using the facility's x-ray machine found a sock hidden in her genitalia. In the sock, detention deputies found six syringes and a plastic bag with two grams of fentanyl, the press release said.
Reno has been charged with the following crimes: driving with a suspended license, attaching a registration license plate to a vehicle it is not assigned to, introduction of contraband into a county detention facility, fentanyl possession and drug paraphernalia possession.
Reno is being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on an $11,000 bond, the press release said.
Earlier in the weekend, on Friday, June 13, FCSO deputies also arrested a man who allegedly attempted to strangle his former coworker.
The man, Anothy Sagginario, 68, had been fired from his job at Raabe Racing, a Bunnell automotive repair shop, the week before the incident. A witness called 911 and told dispatchers that Sagginario had hit a former coworker and then grabbed the victim by his neck before another employee pulled Sagginario away, the press release said.
While interviewing witnesses, deputies found that Sagginario was confronting the victim over allegations that Sagginario had keyed the victim's car, the press release said. Deputies found the suspect at his home in the W-Section of Palm Coast where he was arrested for battery.
Sagginario was later released from the county jail on a $5,000 bond.
FCSO deputies made 14 arrests over the weekend and handled 528 calls for service.
