29-year-old Palm Coast woman killed in single car crash on May 1

The driver hit a guardrail on Highway U.S. 1 before driving into a concrete embankment.

A 29-year-old Palm Coast woman was killed in a car crash on May 1 in Palm Coast. 

The single-car collision happened at 9:35 p.m. on Highway U.S. 1, south of Sawmill Trace. The Chevrolet Impala was driving south on U.S. 1 when the driver lost control of the sedan, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release. 

The Impala ran off the road onto the center median and hit the guardrail, before continuing south on the center median and hitting the concrete embankment. Flagler County Fire Rescue pronounced the driver deceased at the scene, the press release said.

It is unknown what caused the driver to lose control.
