Flagler County Veterans Services has named Shawn Myers as its newest veterans services counselor.
Myers is a retired U.S. Marine Corps master sergeant who served as a recruiter for 15 years. Some residents may recognize him from the U.S. Post Office in Palm Coast, where he worked as a sales and service distribution associate for the past five years.
Myers said he is pleased to have the opportunity to again work with service members, veterans and their families. He brings experience in military recruiting, customer service and community assistance to his new position.
Myers will undergo training and must complete a Veterans Services Officer accreditation course before independently performing all of the duties associated with the position. During the training period, Flagler County Veterans Services will continue assisting veterans with claims and related services.
