Palm Coast has been recognized as a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation for the 20th consecutive year, a city press release said.
The milestone reflects the City's long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible urban forestry. Palm Coast Urban Forester Carol Mini said to qualify as a Tree City community, the city must maintain a tree board, adopt a tree care ordinance invest in urban forestry and celebrate Arbor Day.
Reaching the 20-year milestone shows Palm Coast's "deep-rooted values and commitment to sustainability" by investing in trees, she said.
"These actions show we’re not just planting trees—we’re building a legacy," Mini said.
This milestone not only honors the City's history of urban forestry but also serves as a reminder of the shared responsibility to preserve and grow Palm Coast’s natural legacy for generations to come, the press release said. Tree City USA signage is displayed at 12 locations throughout Palm Coast, including both directions of Palm Coast Parkway, Belle Terre Parkway, Seminole Woods Boulevard, Old Kings Road, Royal Palms Parkway, as well as new locations on Matanzas Woods Parkway—one eastbound coming off U.S. 1 and another westbound near Pirates Nation Way.
