In Loving Memory of Gordon Campbell Jr.
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Gordon Campbell Jr., who departed this life on May 2, 2025, at the age of 69, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Dena. Originally from Candlewood Isle on Candlewood Lake near Danbury, CT, Gordon carried the beauty and warmth of his childhood home into every chapter of his life. After moving to Palm Coast, FL for health reasons, he quickly fell in love with the area’s waterways, boating adventures, and the vibrant motorcycle events of Daytona.
Gordon was a man of many titles and accomplishments, generous with his time and knowledge. A dedicated brave volunteer EMT and firefighter, he proudly served as Chief of Squantz Pond, CT. He built a fulfilling career at Danbury Hospital, dedicating 25 years to various roles, from Phlebotomist to IT Helpdesk Manager. Yet beyond his career, Gordon’s true passion lay in exploration—whether fearlessly navigating vessels from a young age, having fun traveling in his cars, boats, quads, jet skis, motorcycles, and fixing any engine with expert hands. He found joy in teaching, eager to share his knowledge with those willing to learn and have fun.
Among his favorite celebrations were the Fourth of July, Bike Week, and Biketober alongside his best friend and son, Gordon Campbell III, and his daughter-in-law, Lydia. Gordon lived life with energy, kindness, and an infectious enthusiasm, leaving behind a legacy of adventure, service, and love of life.
Gordon was predeceased by his beloved parents, Gordon Campbell and Doris Catherine Campbell. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 21 years, Dena; his cherished son, Gordon Campbell III, and daughter-in-law, Lydia; his loving daughter, Jessica Vinton, and son-in-law, Kyle Vinton; and seven wonderful grandchildren.
His bravery, and generous spirit impacted countless lives, leaving behind an abundance of joyful memories. All who had the honor of knowing him are grateful for the fun times they shared.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at the Elks Lodge on June 7 at 1:00 PM. In the fall, he will be laid to rest alongside his parents in Connecticut.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him, never forgotten.
