Thief steals the sofa, the table— and the floor

10:13 a.m. 200 block of Underwood Trail. Larceny: The thief or thieves who broke in to a Palm Coast U-Section home weren't content just to steal the furniture: They also made off with the yet-to-be-installed hardwood flooring. The home's resident, a 28-year-old woman, returned from two weeks away and discovered the burglary. Two leather couches, a kitchen table and end table, a desktop computer and $1,600 worth of boxed red maple hardwood flooring strips were gone. The woman told a deputy she'd had a roommate, a man, living with her when she left, but that he moved out while she was gone. A deputy spoke to the man, who said the woman's things had disappeared sometime before he left the home.

Woman throws soda on boyfriend, gets arrested for domestic battery

12:25 p.m. First block of Rockefeller Drive. Domestic disturbance: A deputy responded to a domestic disturbance call, and a 29-year-old man at the house told the deputy that his 28-year-old girlfriend threw soda from a cup onto him while they were arguing. The deputy came inside the house and photographed ice cubes and liquid on the floor. The woman told the deputy the man had spilled the liquid himself by standing up too quickly while holding a glass of iced tea, and that she had text messages with him proving it. When the deputy asked to see the text messages, she couldn't produce them, and the deputy arrested her for domestic battery.

Get a room? Thief steals car, returns it, leaves condom wrapper behind

3:37 p.m. First block of Round Tree Drive. Stolen vehicle: A 30-year-old man told a deputy that someone stole his black Chevy Malibu overnight and returned it before 7 a.m., parking it in a different part of the driveway. The man's wife told the deputy she almost struck the car when she was backing out of the garage, because it wasn't in its usual spot. The thief left a condom wrapper and gum wrappers on the floorboards, and kept the keys, which the man had left in the car overnight.
