Flagler County School Board candidate Ron Long announced on Friday, May 8, that his candidate petitions have been certified by the Flagler County Supervisor of Elections, officially qualifying him for the ballot.

Long is running for the District 4 seat against incumbent Christy Chong and former School Board member Trevor Tucker.

In a press release, Long said the petition process allowed him to connect directly with voters across the community and gather feedback from residents.

“I had such an amazing time collecting signatures throughout our county,” he said. “What started as a petition drive quickly became something much more meaningful. I had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with hundreds of Flagler County residents and hear directly from them about their questions, concerns, and hopes for the future of our schools and community.”

Long said he has focused his campaign on listening to residents, supporting students and teachers, and ensuring taxpayers receive transparency and accountability from local leadership.
