A community collaboration between the Palm Coast Lions Club and Rotary Club of Flagler County helped stock Falcon HOPE Center’s Falcon Fuel food pantry at Daytona State College’s Flagler/Palm Coast Campus through the upcoming fall semester.

During April and May, members of both organizations collected non-perishable food items and monetary donations to support the pantry, which assists students facing food insecurity.
“The partnership between the Palm Coast Lions Club and the Rotary Club of Flagler County demonstrates how community collaboration can directly support student success,” said Dr. James Marindino, campus director for Daytona State College’s Flagler/Palm Coast Campus. “Access to basic needs like food plays a critical role in helping students stay focused and complete their education.”
Marindino said Falcon Fuel serves students who often balance academics, work, family responsibilities and rising living costs.
“By reducing food insecurity, programs like Falcon Fuel remove a significant barrier to success, and our shared goal is to assist as many students as possible each semester,” Marindino said.
The successful campaign concluded at the end of May after collecting enough food and funding to support the pantry through the fall semester.
