According to an announcement by the Squadron commander, Cook served as the squadron's cadet commander, leading peers through post-COVID pandemic times, including community outreach programs and public speaking events. Upon his return from Georgia Military College, Cook used his summer vacation to assist in training younger cadets while continuing to train in the CAP cadet program himself.

"His contributions to the squadron and consideration for others made C/2nd Lt. Cook an indispensable member of our unit," the announcement reads. "He embodies the principles of duty, honor and country that are at the foundation of West Point."
