Construction is now underway for the new Drury Plaza Hotel in Daytona Beach, a press release recently announced.
Located at 2600 W. International Speedway Blvd., the hotel will be the brand's first in Daytona Beach and eighth in the state. The seven-story Drury Plaza Hotel in Daytona will have 180 guest rooms and over 2,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. It is now accepting reservations for stays starting in June 2027.

So far in 2026, Drury Hotels has opened or announced four hotels in Florida, including the one in Daytona Beach.
Tanger Outlets Daytona Beach recently announced two leadership promotions within its management team.
Shelley Sloan has been named general manager for the center, and Alyssa Lang has been named marketing director.
In her new role, Sloan will oversee all center operations, including marketing, leasing coordination, property performance and community engagement initiatives.
“Shelley’s deep industry experience and proven success at Tanger Daytona Beach make her exceptionally well suited to lead the center,” said Doug Taylor, regional vice president of property management-south. “Her leadership has consistently elevated performance and community engagement, and we are confident she will continue to drive strong results in this expanded role.”
Sloan brings more than 30 years of experience in the shopping center industry. She most recently served as marketing director for the center. Prior to joining Tanger in 2021, she spent two decades with Simon Property Group in marketing leadership roles across Ohio and Central Florida and later served as a regional marketing director with Washington Prime Group.
In her new role as marketing director, Lang will oversee all marketing, public relations and community engagement efforts for Tanger Daytona Beach. She will lead strategic marketing campaigns, partnerships and on-site programming, along with digital and social media initiatives.
“Alyssa has quickly made a meaningful impact on our marketing efforts through her creativity, strong execution and digital expertise,” Sloan said. “She has helped elevate our marketing presence and strengthen connections with the local community.”
Lang joined Tanger Daytona Beach in 2024 as assistant marketing director. Prior to Tanger, she served as marketing manager at Community Foundation & United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties.
Three of the Yeomans' stores at the Daytona Automall were recently recognized with awards for superior customer service and contract volume with Ford Credit.
Daytona Infiniti received an Award of Excellence for the store's performance during fiscal year 2025. It is the first time the store has been recognized with this award. As an honoree, the store will be recognized as one the top achievers for Infiniti retailers.

Gary Yeomans Ford received the 20th President Award, which according to an email to the Observer, is only earned by the top 3% of Ford dealerships nationwide. This year's award was put in the name of employee Tommy Arena for his contribution to the store's success and customer service. Gary Yeomans Ford also won a Top 100 Dealer Award.
Additionally, Gary Yeomans Lincoln won the President's Award for the ninth time. The dealership has won this for eight consecutive years in the past. This award was put in the name of Marion Shaffer, a service advisor with over 450 perfect five-star reviews.
