Hillside Cemetery, a historic nonprofit cemetery in Ormond Beach, has added a new columbarium structure.
According to a press release, the cemetery at 143 Seton Trail identified the need to expand its offerings due to the growing preference for cremation services. The new columbarium provides a permanent space for the placement of cremated remains in secure memorial niches.
“This addition allows us to better meet the needs of today’s families while continuing our mission of honoring life and preserving the legacy of those who came before us,” said a representative of Hillside Cemetery in the press release. “We are proud to provide a peaceful place where loved ones can be remembered for generations to come.”

Erum Kistemaker, managing attorney and shareholder of Ormond Beach’s Kistemaker Business Law Group, has been selected to Florida Super Lawyers for the 11th consecutive year.
According to a press release, the top 5% of the lawyers in Florida are selected by Super Lawyers. Kistemaker, a condo/HOA, construction, real estate/landlord and business Law attorney has had a vital and active role in Florida’s new and changing legislation regarding community association regulations. Kistemaker, who was also selected to the Gator100 this year, is frequently featured as a Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation authority on state-wide panels discussing the latest regulatory changes and legislative updates.
This is the 13th consecutive year Kistemaker has been recognized by Super Lawyers; she was voted a Rising Star for her first two years.

Since 2004, Kistemaker has served on the Real Property, Probate, Trust Law (RPPTL) Section and is a voting and executive member on the Florida Bar Condominium & Planned Development Committee, where she has served as co-chair of the education sub-committee, among others. Additionally, she has served on the Senate Bill 4D/154 Substantive Legislative Committee Task Force and Board Certification Course Committee.
A new boutique fitness studio will be opening this fall in Ormond-by-the-Sea.
Salt Sculpt Fitness Studio will be located at the Ormond Beach Mall at 1270 Ocean Shore Blvd., next to Publix. The studio will offer instructor-led classes in Pilates, yoga, strength training, sculpt, stretching and recovery-focused sessions, according to a press release. Each class will be structured around 16 training stations.
The studio is founded by Israelle Schindler.
"I didn't set out to open a fitness studio," she said in the press release. "I was actually searching for one. I wanted a place that offered strength training, Pilates, yoga, and recovery-focused movement in a welcoming environment where women could feel comfortable, challenged, and supported. When I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for in the Ormond Beach area, I realized there were probably many other women searching for the same thing."
Schindler said her goal to create a space where people can build "strength, improve their health, and feel empowered in their bodies for years to come."
