Kona Construction Services celebrated a ribbon cutting of its new location of 85 S. Washington St. in Ormond Beach on Thursday, June 18.
The company is owned by Mike Bowen and Rick Burt. Prior to moving into their new location three months ago, the company was located at 100 E. Granada Blvd. for six years.
Kona's new location is now equipped with an office, a warehouse and a design center, the latter two of which are new additions to the company.
"We moved in here not knowing we were going to set up a design center, but we had all this space, and we said, 'Well, let's do this,' and then we ended up putting it all together and one thing led to another," Bowen said.
Bowen is most looking forward to the influx of clientele that his new location is bringing. Since being in their new building, Bowen said numerous subcontractors and painters drop by the business in hopes to work with them.
"We're doing a lot of remodeling, interior, residential remodeling, like kitchens, bathrooms, full interiors of the house and assisting those who need structural walls removed," said Bowen, who has lived in Volusia County since 1974.
