The Landing Strip Tavern has announced its grand re-opening will be May 1, and invites the public to attend their celebration.

The restaurant has been "grounded" for nearly 300 days, a press release said, but "is officially ready for takeoff." The Tavern now boasts a remodeled interior with seating for 150 guests, a one-of-a-kind bar that is made to resemble a salvaged warplane, a new children's play area with "a helipad and helicopter slide," an event room, and other upgrades.

"What started as a short-term closure for minor updates quickly became a full-scale transformation," the press release said. Construction reveled deeper safety issues that needed to be addressed.

The celebration begins with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m., and doors will open for business at 11 a.m. The Landing Strip is located at 202 Airport Road, Palm Coast.
