FPC Wrestling wins first dual meet of the season

The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs outlasted 28 teams to win their first meet of this season and extend its undefeated streak at the 2014 Capital City Classic on Dec. 12-13, in Tallahassee.

FPC scored 288 points, 86 points better than second place. They had 12 of 14 weight classes place, including four that were first.

The first place winners were Alfred Shavers (120), Evyn Insalaco (132), Kaz Maia (145) and Jake Trivett (160). Zac Branning finished in second place in the 106-pound weight division, and Michael DeAugustino (126) Jonathan Muniz (195) won third.

“The whole team did pretty well, considering it was the first tournament of the year,” coach Tom Bartolotta said. “We just have to continue to improve for the post season by the end of the year.”

The Bulldogs will put their undefeated streak on the line at the annual Lyman Tournament on Dec. 20-21, in Longwood.
