About 100 anglers set out on the waters Saturday, April 14, for the 16th-annual Bucket Full O’ Fun Tournament.

Participation in the tournament doubled from last year and was held at Hurricane Patty’s, in Flagler Beach, for the second year.

While 80% of the entry money is awarded back to the anglers as prize money, funds raised from T-shirt sales, raffles and a silent auction will be donated to Second Chance Rescue.

“The forecasted winds were 10 to 20 mph with gusts at 25 mph,” said Capt. Mike Vickers, tournament director. “Like any other tournament, it’s a fishing day. The conditions are normal for Florida at this time of year, but the fishers adapt to it.”

The tournament awarded prizes to the top four weights for flounder, redfish and trout. A prize was also awarded to the “isherman with the highest weight for a “Flagler Bucket,” which includes one of each fish in addition to a black drum. The Flagler Bucket prize was awarded to Gerald Jarrard, whose bucket weighed in at 20 pound, nine ounces.
