As county residents prepare for the Palm Coast Family Fun Fest, the Volusia Flagler Family YMCA focuses on continuing its community work with the funds it will receive.

The YMCA is one of two of this year’s beneficiaries, with the other being The Flagler County Education Foundation.

“The Y is privileged to be a beneficiary of the Palm Coast Family Fun Fest,” said Jonathan Giles, integrated marketing director for Volusia Flagler Family YMCA. “As an organization whose cause is to strengthen communities, events like the Palm Coast Family Fun Fest is great time for families to spend time together and grow closer together.”

The YMCA, which is located at 60 Medical Memorial Parkway, is part of the Florida Hospital Flagler facility. It provides sports programs in the community through a partnership with the city of Palm Coast, as well as other organizations.

For families who are looking to be active or focus on wellness, the Y provides a wide range of opportunities, from free swim lessons to health education seminars and sports programs.

The core mission of the Y is to strengthen communities through three areas of focus: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

In addition, the Y offers soccer, basketball, and flag football. It is a nonprofit organization, and no child is turned away because of an inability to pay.
