On behalf of the members of I.U.P.A. Local 6075, I am proud to offer our endorsement of Commissioner Kristin Deaton.
In my role as Union President, I work closely with city leadership on issues that directly impact public safety, officer welfare, and the quality of service we provide to our community. Commissioner Deaton has consistently demonstrated a clear understanding of these priorities and a willingness to stand alongside the men and women who serve on the front lines.
Commissioner Deaton has been a steady and reliable partner in supporting policies that strengthen public safety while also ensuring officers have the resources, training, and equipment necessary to do their jobs effectively and safely. Just as important, they recognize the importance of fair working conditions, open dialogue, and mutual respect between city leadership and law enforcement personnel.
What sets Commissioner Deaton apart is their accessibility and straightforward approach. They listen, they show up, and they engage honestly — even when conversations are difficult. That kind of leadership builds trust, not only within our department but across the broader community we all serve.
Our members have seen first-hand Commissioner Deaton’s commitment to balancing accountability with support for law enforcement. They understand that strong communities depend on both effective policing and meaningful community relationships, and they have worked to advance both.
For these reasons, the members of I.U.P.A. Local 6075 fully support Commissioner Deaton and appreciate their continued leadership and partnership.
