In Loving Memory of Debra Jean Drope

Today, we honor and remember Debra Jean Drope, a devoted wife, mother, sister, and a woman whose love and presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.

Debra was small in stature, but larger than life in personality. She was deeply loving and caring, especially toward her family, always putting their needs before her own. She worked tirelessly to provide and gave everything she had to ensure her children felt supported, safe, and cared for.

Debra’s strong work ethic was evident throughout her life. She first met her husband, Bruce James Drope, while working at Wendy’s. She later built a long and dedicated career with JCPenney, where she worked in management across various departments for several decades.

She had a special love for animals and a natural warmth that made everyone feel welcome. Nowhere was that more evident than in the home she built alongside her husband, Bruce James Drope.

Debra found joy in cooking and baking, especially during the holidays she loved so much. Christmas and Thanksgiving were her time to shine, filling the home with warmth, laughter, and the unmistakable smell of her homemade meals and desserts. She was known for her Christmas cookies and the way she made every visit feel special. No one ever left without feeling loved and appreciated, and often with several to-go containers filled with food.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce James Drope; her sons, Bruce Jr. and Tyler Allen; and her siblings Gary Whitenight, Kevin Whitenight, Kim Carella, and Jeff Whitenight, along with extended family and loved ones who will continue to carry her memory forward.

Her love, her strength, and the comfort she brought into the lives of others will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us, the warmth she created, the care, the generosity, and the love will remain in our hearts forever.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
