Flagler County School Board candidate Jill Woolbright announced Monday, May 4, that her candidate petitions have been certified by the Flagler County Supervisor of Elections.

Woolbright, who served on the board from 2020 to 2022, is running for the District 1 seat against Cathy Moon. The seat is currently open due to the resignations of Sally Hunt and, more recently, Derek Barrs, who had been appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to replace Hunt.

“I am deeply grateful to the residents of Flagler County who took the time to sign my petition and support this campaign,” Woolbright said in a press release. “This milestone reflects not just qualification, but a shared commitment to the future of our students, our teachers, and our schools.”

Woolbright taught in Flagler Schools for 28 years.

“Having spent nearly three decades in the classroom and having served on the School Board, I understand both the challenges and the opportunities within our school system,” she said. “I am committed to bringing experienced, steady leadership that prioritizes student success, supports our teachers, and ensures responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.”
