Recent Seabreeze High School graduate Leena Harman was the recipient of a $2,500 memorial scholarship for Dorothy Summers and Bruce Ernest Haddad.

Harman received the scholarship, presented by Carl and Susan Persis, at the Seabreeze senior awards event last month.

Harman graduated from Seabreeze Summa Cum Laude and completed her AICE diploma with merit and obtained a gold seal of biliteracy. According to a statement to the Observer, Harman graduated in the top 5% of her class.

While at Seabreeze, Harman ran cross country all four years of high school, played varsity tennis for three years and went to state for tennis with her doubles partner in 2025. In her senior year, she was named an MVP.

Harman has also worked as a Volusia County lifeguard since May 2024. In the fall, she will attend Florida State University.
