Florida Power & Light plans to complete several infrastructure improvements in Ormond Beach in 2026 in its mission to reduce outages and allow for faster power restoration following major storms.

According to a press release, FPL is planning to:

  • Trim trees and vegetation impacting 222 miles of power lines.
  • Inspect 720 power poles, strengthening or replacing those that no longer meet FPL's standards.

“Our employees work every day in Ormond Beach to provide safe, reliable electric service while keeping customer bills as low as possible," said Linda Webster, local external affairs manager for FPL. "By continuing to invest in our electric grid, we are strengthening resilience year-round and helping our communities recover faster when severe weather impacts our area.”

"Our move to Ormond Towne Square is all about enhancing how we serve the people who matter most, our customers," said Thomas Heiser, managing broker. "We've designed this contemporary office to be an inviting, accessible space for the community to connect with our team. Coldwell Banker Premier Properties has deep roots in Ormond Beach, and though we've moved to a new address, we are still the same experienced, local agents who know and love this community."

To celebrate this milestone, CBPP will host a baseball-themed "Red, White, and Coldwell Banker Blue" Grand Opening Celebration from 1-6 p.m. on Friday, June 12. The community-wide event will feature a ribbon cutting Ceremony at 3 p.m., alongside real estate insights, refreshments and family-friendly festivities.

To support local commerce, CBPP is also launching a shop-local campaign where people can pick up a "Home Run Card" from now through June 12. Collect stamps by visiting participating retail stores and businesses within Ormond Towne Square. Completed cards will be entered to win a prize package with baseball-themed goodies, trading cards, game-day swag, and five tickets to a Daytona Tortugas home game. The drawing will take place at 5 p.m. on June 12.
