Dear Editor:
I have tried to stay out of local politics after retiring from the School Board in 2024. However, I just can’t standby without addressing this one.
Flagler Schools earned an “A” in 2019. Jill Woolbright came on the board in 2020 after the seat was vacated by Andy Dance. She served two years before loosing her re-election bid in 2022. She brought division, dysfunction, cruelty and took a functional board, maybe not the best but far better before her arrival, to its knees. No one wants to relive those years.
Those were literally the worst two years of the 24 I spent on the board.
I could share in detail why, but most of you got a front row seat to all of it. Worst of all, so did our students, teachers and staff.
Flagler Schools are heading in the right direction. I sincerely hope people realize this race will be decided in the primary. There is only one opportunity for voters to have a voice. Every single vote will count in this nonpartisan race. I hope people will get out and vote for Cathy Moon.
Our kids, families, teachers, staff and administrators are counting on you.
