Sherry Jo Rimstidt, 80, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.

Born in Richland, Spencer County, Indiana, on July 22, 1944, Sherry was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Hazel (Harvey) Partridge. She was raised in Rockport, Indiana, where she graduated from Rockport High School and soon after married her high school sweetheart, James “Jim” Rimstidt, on December 20, 1962. Together, they built a life filled with unwavering devotion, shared dreams, and a love that spanned more than six decades.

While Jim pursued his college education, Sherry stood beside him every step of the way—not only supporting him emotionally, but actively assisting in his studies, a true partner in every sense of the word. As they raised their family, Sherry wore many hats with grace and strength: she worked as a District Sales Manager of a jewelry company, Collection Manager of several finance companies, and later served as Church Secretary for LaPorte United Methodist Church in Elyria, Ohio. Her most cherished roles were that of wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of faith.

Sherry’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated and joyful member of LaPorte United Methodist Church and Palm Coast United Methodist Church, where her compassion and selflessness touched countless lives. As part of many Sunday School and Bible Study classes, Stevens Ministry, and Our Father’s Table—a mission close to her heart that provided food to those in need—Sherry poured out her love in service to others. Her generosity was limitless, her kindness instinctive. She had an extraordinary gift for lifting others up, offering support without question, and loving without condition.

Above all, Sherry’s life was rooted in love—love for God, love for her family, and love for the people around her. Her heart was immeasurably big, her spirit endlessly giving. To be in her presence was to feel seen, heard, valued, and cared for. Her strength was quiet but mighty, her faith unshakable, and her legacy unforgettable.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James P. Rimstidt; her children, James P. “J.P.” Rimstidt, Jr. (Tammy) of Elyria, Ohio; David Rimstidt (Gerry) of Palm Coast; and Stephanie Kirkpatrick (Fraser) of Macungie, Pennsylvania. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren: Brandon Rimstidt (Sayaka), Hannah Bookless (Talon), Caleb Rimstidt (McKenna), Nicole and Erica Rimstidt, and Vivian and Arthur Kirkpatrick; and delighted in her great-granddaughter, Sadie Rimstidt.

A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Palm Coast United Methodist Church. A separate Celebration of Life will be held at LaPorte United Methodist Church in Elyria, Ohio on July 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM.

In honor of Sherry’s lifelong devotion to helping others, memorial contributions may be made to Our Father’s Table or Palm Coast United Methodist Church building fund; c/o Palm Coast United Methodist Church, 6500 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137.

Sherry’s life was a living sermon—a testament to grace, kindness, and boundless love. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever treasured.
