Georgena passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at her apartment in Tuscan Gardens Assisted Living, Palm Coast, FL. She was born on December 08, 1935, in New York, NY. to the late Edward and Frances Heubner (McLellan). Georgena married her “soulmate” Matthew in 1965 at which time he was the captain of an 85’ private yacht on Long Island. She moved her family down south and they built, owned and operated the Flagler Beach Marina and Boat Works for 18 years located at North 23rd street. She and Matt also built and operated Acosta Creek Marina Bed and Breakfast for 15 years in Welaka, FL. Georgena was known as “The Hostess with the Mostess” and will be remembered as the organized force and loving business partner with her husband Matt, together they moved mountains and instilled into their children the importance of a strong work ethic and work/life balance. Georgena was famous for her many recipes and culinary skills. She was also known as Dr. Mom whenever she met anyone with an injury or ailment. Survivors include her children, Laura Allberg, Heather Diaz, Robbie DeMoustes; grandchildren, Gretchen Kessels, Brandon Bradley, Grant Perks, Will Perks, Kendall Perks, Jason Allberg, Stacey Polsinello, great-grandchildren, Autumn Kessels, Carson Polsinello, Ava Polsinello, Valerie Perks, Gage Perks and Rayna Perks. Donations in her memory may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation. The immediate family will have a private celebration of life for Georgena.
