It is with both sorrow, and deep gratitude for her life, that we announce the passing of Joyce Earlene Faucette-Taylor, who died peacefully on April 20th, 2025, in Ormond Beach, Florida, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 83.

Born on October 17th, 1941, in Washington, D.C., Joyce was the beloved daughter of Hugh Earl Faucette (1894–1948) and Clara Mae Ellis (1901–1949). After her parents’ passing, Joyce was raised by her guardians, Minnie Catherine Robinson and Horace Lucius Robinson.

She was a proud graduate of Federal City College, earning her Bachelor’s Degree. A dedicated public servant, Joyce worked for the Office of Personnel Management until retirement, and was known for her dedication, professionalism and warmth.

Joyce moved to Palm Coast in 1997, where she quickly became a cherished member of the community. A woman of faith and musical talent, she was a longtime member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, and an active participant in The Order of the Daughters of the King.

Joyce had a natural gift for connecting with others—whether through her faith, playing Mah-Jongg, sharing her piano talents or hosting dinners and special events in her home. She also enjoyed Caribbean cruises with close friends, and simple moments like morning chats with her neighbors or with friends at the local Dunkin’ Donuts. A true social spirit, she brought joy wherever she went.

She was also an animal lover, always showing affection and compassion for pets and animals of all kinds.

She is survived by her devoted son, Gary Gabriel, and his partner, Alicia, her beloved cousin Junie, and a circle of treasured friends and neighbors who became extended family over the years. These include: Olga & Mikhail, Judy, Reba, Ann, Mary, Lino, Velma, Dorothy, Tim and Karl, who predeceased her, among countless others from the community whose lives she touched.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Clymer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Joyce Faucette Taylor’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, to support ongoing research and care in hopes of bringing light and healing to others facing this journey.

She will be remembered always for her faith, warmth, and the joy she shared so freely in the company of others. She was a light in every life she touched—and that light will continue to shine.

Joyce’s family have entrusted arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations, 39 Old Kings Rd., N., Palm Coast, FL 32137.
