A 33-year-old Ocala man was injured on the beach after a vehicle ran over him on Saturday, near the Cardinal Drive beach ramp in Ormond Beach.
The Volusia Sheriff's Office reported that the man was sunbathing around 10:43 a.m. when a 61-year-old Ormond Beach woman driving a Jeep hit him as she attempted to back into a parking spot, traveling outside the travel lanes.
The man suffered injuries to his thigh and arm. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.
The driver was cited with careless driving.
