Flagler Habitat for Humanity invites the community to celebrate two home dedications this month, marking homeownership milestones for two local families and recognizing the community partnerships that helped make them possible.
Flagler Habitat's home dedication No. 146 for the Coleman family will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at 150 Bird of Paradise Drive in Palm Coast.
Home dedication No. 137 for the Martin family is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 2304 Banana Street, Bunnell.
The community is invited to meet the new homeowners at both dedications. A Habitat home dedication celebrates the culmination of a partnership among the homeowner, Habitat and the wider community.
Partner families complete program requirements: homeownership education, sweat equity, plus a long-term commitment to their home. Community support comes through volunteer labor, donations, public funding, business participation, ReStore revenue and local partnerships.
The families’ dedications reflect support from partners across Flagler County. Flagler Habitat recognizes Pioneer Appliance for its contribution through the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program; Flagler County for its longstanding SHIP partnership; the City of Palm Coast for CDBG support and upcoming land donations; ReStore staff, volunteers, construction crews; donors; board members; and staff. Their combined support helped bring these homes to completion.
