Children in need are being blessed this Christmas season through the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child. Individuals, families and groups have the opportunity to pack a shoebox gift filled with fun toys, school supplies and personal care items and drop them off now during National Collection Week, Nov. 18–25, according to a press release.
There are more than 4,700 drop-off locations open around the country, including First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, 6050 Palm Coast Parkway NW; and Coquina Presbyterian Church (PCA), 2085 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach.
Drop off hours at First Baptist are at 2-5 p.m. Nov. 18-19 and 10 a.m.-noon Nov. 20-25. At PCA, drop-offs are until 3 p.m. Nov. 18; 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 19; 3-5 p.m. Nov. 20; 8 a.m.-noon Nov. 21; 3-6 p.m. Nov. 22; 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 23; 1:30-4 p.m. Nov. 24; and 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 25.
Operation Christmas Child has been collecting and delivering shoebox gifts to children worldwide for more than three decades. This year, Operation Christmas Child hopes to collect enough shoeboxes to reach 12 million children.
