James Farrell is a veteran of the Vietnam War and served a career in the Air Force as an aircraft loadmaster. Aircraft Loadmasters custom load aircraft before any flight. From calculating proper weight distribution to providing passenger comfort throughout the flight, these specialists ensure everything, and everyone is safe and secure on flights all over the world. He primarily worked aboard the C-5 Galaxy, which is among the largest military aircraft in the world and can fit six Greyhound buses in its cargo hold. The C-5 has been transporting troops and equipment on behalf of the U.S. since 1968. Farrell is also the survivor of a USAF C-130 plane crash in Japan on May 20, 1959. Among his many awards, Farrell is the recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Medal. He resided in South Florida for a long time but relocated to Palm Coast in 2022. Farrell is an avid golfer and a new member of American Legion Post 115, here in Flagler County.
