Ormond-by-the-Sea Lions Club members conducted their quarterly Adopt-A-Highway road and beach cleanup along A1A on Feb. 11.

Then, on Feb. 15, the club held its meeting at the St. Brendan's church pantry, to which the club donated $500 in memory of Lion George Schneider, who recently died, according to a news release by the club.

"Lion George was always the most active member when it came to soliciting food for the local food banks," the release states.

On Feb. 26, five Lions Club members participated in the Hike for the Homeless in Central Park in Ormond Beach, benefitting Michele's Blankets. The members donated sunglasses and helped pack 68 backpacks for the homeless.

Finally, on March 3 and 4, Lions Club President Greg Evans and Past Presidents Bobbie Cheh and Mary Yochum attended the Multiple District Spring Conference. They were joined by 90 Lions from across the state at the conference, held in Orlando. International Director Allen Snider and his wife Susan, from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada, were guests for the conference.
