Our mom, Sally “Diane” (Straus) Roberts of Palm Coast, sadly passed away on October 17, 2023 at the age of 87. She was born in Port Chester, NY, August 28, 1936 to Arnum & Mildred (Johnson) Straus. She grew up in Greenwich, CT, and graduated from Greenwich High School. She was known as a gifted equestrian, and for her archery & rifle skills. She worked as a contracted bookkeeper for various companies. She became a long term Girl Scout Leader in Norwalk, CT (15+ years) and put a lot of mileage on her car taking us to sports practices, meets, and scouting activities. She was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She made the best baked beans and chocolate chip cookies.
She and our dad retired to Palm Coast Florida in 1992 where she became an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She liked spending time tag saling with family and reading.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John E. Roberts. She is survived by three children: Terry (Dennis Canaday) Roberts, Kris Roberts, Debra (Matthew) Murawski, and 4 grand children: John Abelkis, Ariel Murawski, Jessica Murawski, and CJ Murawski.
The placement of her ashes with our dad’s will be a small private event.
