The Kennedy Family, of Ormond Beach, were selected as Ormond Memorial Art Museum’s featured family from the museum’s Dec. 1 Free Family Art Night event.
The Kennedy Family said in a statement to OMAM that they were looking for something fun to do as a family, as they try to explore a different place or try something new every weekend. While they had been to the museum before, they had only recently heard of the art night events.
"We began the evening exploring the gardens," the family's statement read. "The boys love to see the turtles and explore the trails. At 5:30 (p.m.) we began decorating our holiday owls to take home that with us. Mrs. Linda King, a very pleasant woman who hosts these events guided us and provided all the resources, making for a fantastic family outing. The boys absolutely loved it. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Mrs. King for a great experience."
The museum’s Family Art Night takes place from 5:30-7 p.m. on most first Fridays of the month. All art supplies are provided, and the program is sponsored in part by the Women United Volusia Chapter.
The next program is scheduled for Jan. 5.
