Viola Rose Van Gorden

Viola Rose Van Gorden, 85, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022.

Viola was greatly loved & will be missed by all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her parents Rose & John Ventresco of Dedham, Massachusetts; brother Joseph Ventresco, grandson Kevin Walsh & husband Dean Van Gorden. Viola raised three children who were the joy of her life in Laurel, Maryland before working for the Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. where she served under Secretary, Elizabeth Dole. Upon retirement Viola & her beloved husband, Dean, relocated to Palm Coast where they resided for the remainder of their lives together. Viola loved her family, friends, boating, playing Bridge, Mahjong, attending church, traveling & was an active member of the Italian American Club. She is survived by her three children & their spouses: a daughter, Diane & her husband, Stirling Murray, two sons; Steven & his wife, Laura (Penland) Walsh & Brian & his wife, Robin (Smelser) Walsh, all of Maryland; 6 grandchildren: Kayla Murray, Kelsey Murray, Garrett, Connor, Devon & Brian Walsh Jr., one sister, Joanne Dean of Arizona & brother John Ventresco of New Hampshire. Viola was greatly loved & will be missed by all who knew her.
