Florida Park Drive reopened on Wednesday Nov. 23 after almost five months of work.

While the main road has reopened for through traffic, Farraday Lane to Fawn Lane remains closed, a press release from the City of Palm Coast said, because additional electrical work is needed. Of Farraday Lane's two entrances, the southern entrance near Island Walk shopping plaza will remain closed and the northern entrance will be open.

The city closed the intersection of Farraday Lane and Florida Park Drive for a utility project reconstructing a section of sanitary sewer and building a new lift station, the press release said. The new station is on Farraday Lane and replaced the old lift station on Florida Park Drive.

The new location will limit traffic obstruction when crews perform routine maintenance, the release said, as well as making it safer for them.

The project was delayed when Hurricanes Ian and Nicole caused power outages and Florida Power & Light was helping restore power throughout the state. The last step of the project need FPL to provide power to the lift station and FPL was able to do so on Wednesday, the press release said.
