UF Health Heart and Vascular Surgery at Halifax Health to present ninth-annual Tomoka Marathon

Funds raised by this March 19 event will be returned to the local community in a variety of ways.

UF Health Heart and Vascular Surgery at Halifax Health is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the ninth-annual Tomoka Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K, Saturday, March 19. The race is a Boston Marathon qualifier and starts and finishes at The Casements in Ormond Beach, going through Tomoka State Park and Ormond’s Scenic Loop and Trail, and voted The BibRave 100 top 20 marathons in the U.S. by runners two years in a row.

“It is an honor to represent two world-class institutions, Halifax Health and UF Health, and we are proud to be a leading provider of vascular surgical care for Volusia County.” said Robert Feezor, UF Health vascular surgeon and associate chief medical officer of UF Health – Halifax. “Events such as the Tomoka Marathon and other Live Your Life Well series races help promote overall cardiovascular health in our community and it is our privilege to support this tremendous race.”

Don Stoner is the race director and owner of Runners High Timing and Race Management.

“We are excited to be bringing this event back to Ormond Beach and our original course on the Tomoka Loop," Stoner said. "This event gives our participants the unique opportunity to run on this one of a kind course and experience the Old Florida beauty of the area.”

Funds raised by this event will be returned to the local community in a variety of ways. Donations are made to student and citizen groups who provide volunteer support. In the past, these groups have included: The Volusia Flagler Family YMCA, Team RWB, Seabreeze Boys cross country team, Boy Scouts of America, Ormond Beach Civil Air Patrol, ERAU Lady Eagles Soccer Team and the Halifax Health Foundation.

  • Tomoka Marathon ($90 entry fee)
  • Tomoka Half Marathon ($65 entry fee)
  • Tomoka Half Marathon Ruck Division ($65 entry fee)
  • Tomoka 5K ($40 entry fee)
  • Virtual Marathon ($60 entry fee)
  • Virtual Half Marathon ($50 entry fee)
  • Virtual 5K ($30 entry fee)
