Friday, July 1

First Friday Garden Walk

When: 10-11 a.m.

Where: Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, 6400 N. Oceanshore Blvd., Palm Coast

Details: Come out the first Friday of the month to learn more about the gardens and history of Washington Oaks. No registration necessary; the walk is included with the park's entry fees. Meet at the garden parking lot at 10 a.m. and wear comfortable walking shoes. Tours last one hour.

Independence Day Block Party

When: 5-7:30 p.m.

Where: Tanger Outlets Daytona Beach, 1100 Cornerstone Blvd., Daytona Beach

Details: Kick off the Fourth of July weekend with a free block party at Tanger Outlets. Enjoy music, a kids fun zone, face painting and more. 

Movies on the Halifax

When: 8:30-10:30 p.m.

Where: Rockefeller Gardens, 26 Riverside Drive, Ormond Beach

Details: Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy a showing of "School of Rock," rated PG-13. Movies are weather-sensitive. Call 386-676-3216 for rainout information.

First Saturday Creative Bazaar

When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Arts Foundation, 1500 Central Ave., Palm Coast

Details: The Palm Coast Arts Foundation presents the First Saturday Creative Bazaar Arts and Crafts flea market. Visit palmcoastartsfoundation.com.

Art walk

When: 5-8 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach MainStreet Arts District, 128 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach

Details: Join Ocean Art Gallery, Frame of Mind, Thays Art Gallery and Studio, Rusty Wagon Redo Joint and Neighborhood Shop on the first Saturday of each month for art openings and art events. Free. Visit OrmondBeachMainstreet.com

Charity event to support Ukraine

When: 6:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. U.S. 1, Ormond Beach

Details: The Ukrainian Project, Inc. presents Okzana Bilozir and Nataliya Bratash for an evening of Ukrainian music to raise money and awareness of the struggles in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Project is a nonprofit organization raising funds to provide humanitarian aid for refugees and support to the people still in the country. All funds from the ticket purchase will go to provide aid. Tickets cost $35. For more information, contact Ruksolana Cisyk at the Ukranian Project at 904-800-9044. The PAC's box office is open Tuesday-Friday from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased online at ormondbeach.org/267/Performing-Arts-Center

Palm Coast's Fireworks over the Runways

When: 5-9 p.m.

Where: Flagler Executive Airport, 201 Airport Road, Palm Coast

Details: Have a picnic and see fireworks at this free Fourth of July celebration with live music, an Independence Day ceremony featuring the Palm Coast Fire Department Honor Guard and elected officials and a veterans welcome by Rep. Paul Renner. There will be multiple food trucks onsite. Gates open at 4 p.m. Fireworks will set off at 9 p.m. 

Monday, July 4

Flagler Beach annual Stars and Stripes parade

When: 10 a.m. to noon

Where: 215 S. Oceanshore Blvd., Flagler Beach

Details: Come and celebrate the Fourth of July with this parade on Ocean Shore Boulevard. Free event.

City of Ormond Beach's Independence Day Celebration

When: 8-9:30 p.m.

Where: Rockefeller Gardens, 26 Riverside Drive, Ormond Beach

Details: Join the city of Ormond Beach for its annual Fourth of July fireworks display. Fireworks at 9 p.m. There will be music and food trucks. Call 676-3241.

Celebrate America!

When: 1-2:30 p.m.

Where: St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5400 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast

Details: See the Choral Arts Society's 23rd-annual concert of Americana and patriotic music. Free admission. Tax-free donations are also accepted, which will help provide scholarships to local college-bound students. 

Tuesday, July 5

Beach cleanup

When: 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Where: Tom Renick Park, 1565 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach

Details: Join Volusia County's Environmental Management staff for a beach cleanup after the Fourth of July. This is part of the county's free Explore Volusia programs in July. Bring a bucket or a trash bag, grabbers and gloves if you have them. Registration is required. Call 386-736-5927.

Ormond Beach library's speaker series

When: 2 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St., Ormond Beach

Details: Jill Christoferson, a biological scientist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, will discuss best practices for sustainable fishing. This is part of the library's educational programs for adults. Registration is not required. Programs are cosponsored by the Friends of the Ormond Beach Library. Details: Expressions Art Gallery presents "The 5 Expressions," a show featuring Ron Lace, Judi Wormeck, Mike Gleason, Jan Jackson, Maggie Corder, Lee Richards and Ron Wallace. Gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
