Mosquito control pop-up educational event

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Bulow Creek State Park, 3351 Old Dixie Highway, Ormond Beach

Details: Volusia County Mosquito Control is hosting this event for residents to learn about the county's integrated pest management program and the best mosquito prevention and population control practices. The interactive Fight the Bite trailer will be onsite, providing hands-on learning and educational opportunities. 

'Schoolhouse Rock Live!'

When: 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23

Where: Flagler Auditorium, 5500 E. State Road 100, Pam Coast

Details: See the City Repertory Theatre's production of "Schoolhouse Rock Live!," a show based on the Emmy award-winning 1970s educational animated TV series. The show uses the familiar songs from the cartoons to teach grammar, math, science, history, social studies and political science, while telling the story of Tom, a young teacher anticipating his first day on the job. Barbecue, Jazz and Blues

When: 4-7 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE, Palm Coast

Details: The North East Florida Jazz Association will present its annual summer barbecue, which is open to the public. The event will feature the Shawn Pfaffman Trio. Low-cost pet shot clinic

When: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Where: A Pampered Pooch, 295 S. Yonge St., Ormond Beach

Details: Get your pet vaccinated at a lower cost. Rabies shots will cost $5 for 1-year vaccinations. Other shots offered include dog distemper/parvo combo, dog flu, cat distemper combo, feline leukemia and more. Heartworm prevention and flea control products will be available for purchase. All vaccinations are administered with a licensed veterinarian. Gospel Extravaganza

Details: Inspiration of Hope Community Resources, Inc., a nonprofit organization, is presenting a Gospel Extravaganza featuring national award-winning gospel singer Dorothy Norwood and Punch Baldwin, lead singer of The Georgia Mass Choir. Where: Expressions Art Gallery, 2298 Colbert Lane, Palm Coast

Details: Expressions Art Gallery presents "The 5 Expressions," a show featuring Ron Lace, Judi Wormeck, Mike Gleason, Jan Jackson, Maggie Corder, Lee Richards and Ron Wallace. Gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

The Casements Camera Club's ninth-annual spring exhibit

When: through June 29

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive, Ormond Beach

Details: The Casements Camera Club presents its ninth-annual spring exhibit at The Casements in Ormond Beach. The exhibit of color as well as black and white images is open to the public during The Casements' gallery hours of Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
