George Edward Pollio

George Edward Pollio, 77, passed away peacefully on December 16th, 2021, at his home of 27 years in Flagler Beach after battling Lewy Body with Parkinson’s disease.

George was born in Rockville, Connecticut to the late Seraphen Pollio and Margaret Swatik Britner.  George completed his degree from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy on June 12th, 1967.

George was an entrepreneur and owned three pharmacies with his partners Walter Minix, Joe Corgan, Randy Margrave, and the late Jim Paquette. George continued to own and operate Holly Hill Pharmacy until he retired in 2019.  He then turned the operation over to his son Dr. Tom Hill.

George was a lover of all sports-he was a fan of anything that included a ball. George especially loved golf and was an avid player on a team for many years at Palm Harbor golf club where he won many titles. He played twice a week regularly with his team and hit golf balls on the weekend. When George wasn’t playing golf, he played tennis. George was a huge fan of baseball ever since he was a kid. His favorite team was the Boston Red Sox. He went to many of their games at Fenway Park and traveled to all the major ball fields in the USA. He had a passion for travel and went to countless countries around the world. He loved adventure and instilled this in all his children.

George was a gentle, peaceful man who loved his family and always referred to them as his best assets in life.

George was a gentle, peaceful man who loved his family and always referred to them as his best assets in life. He treasured Sunday dinners with his children and grandkids. George leaves behind his four children; Maranda Palmer, Tom Hill and wife Fawn Hill, Keri Johnson and husband Roy Johnson, Jenna Dickensheet and husband Adam Dickensheet and eight grandchildren; Hannah Palmer, William Palmer, Ben Palmer, Ellie Hill, Ethan Johnson, Logan Johnson, Caylee Dickensheet, and Camden Dickensheet.  George is survived by his sister Janet Catino and husband Leo Catino and Lorraine DeCarli and life partner Frank Cirioni. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Pollio.

George was laid to rest with a green burial at Prairie Creek Preserve in Gainesville, Florida on December 18th, 2021.  A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date.
