Each year, The Casements Camera Club presents a special assignment to its members, for the chance to be selected by their peers as one of the best five photos, and this year was no exception.

Members were given the focus to use low-key exposure, and all had the opportunity to vote for their five favorite photographs.

Club President Ans van Beek Torkington said in a press release that it was quite an assignment to vote on the best of the best.

“Some members only entered one image while others submitted up to nine," she said. "It was difficult to just pick the top five. We thank our members for participating with their very creative submissions.”

Here are the photographers that topped the list for the club's assignment:

  • First place: Jeanne Figurelli, who also earned a complimentary club membership for 2023
