Labor Day block party

Where: Tanger Outlets, 1100 Cornerstone Blvd.

Details: Kick off the holiday weekend at Tanger Outlets with this free block party. Enjoy live music, a kids fun zone, s'mores, face painting and more. The block party will take place near the Under Armour store.

Free family art night

When: 6-7:30 p.m.

Where: Parish Hall at St. James Episcopal Church, 38 S. Halifax Drive

Details: Ormond Memorial Art Museum's free family art night returns to an in-person format at a new location as the museum undergoes construction. Adults with their children or grandchildren may drop in to create a wall hanging from recycled and colorful materials. The project will be taught by OMAM staff member and local art teacher Linda King. All art supplies are provided. Face coverings will be required while inside. Visit or call 386-676-3347.

Explore Volusia: Beach cleanup

When: 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Where: Tom Renick Park, 1565 Ocean Shore Blvd. 

Details: Help clean the beach after Labor Day weekend and learn about the impacts of trash on sea turtles and other wildlife. Environmental specialists will share information about washback sea turtles and explain what to do if you find one. Call 386-736-5927.

Wreaths Across America flag waving

When: 8:45-10:05 a.m.

Details: Wreath Across America is hosting a live national flag waving in remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The event will feature Gold Star families, first responders and their families. In addition to the National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance and sharing of stories, the event will include four moments of silence.
