Friday, July 30

Back to School Bash

When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday to Sunday, July 30 to Aug. 1; Aug. 6-8

Where: Tanger Outlets, 1100 Cornerstone Blvd.

Details: Activities will include a Stuff the Bus donation drive presented by United Way of Volusia and Flagler Counties. There will also be a back-to-school vendor expo, sponsored by VyStar Credit Union, on Saturday, Aug. 7. 

Summer Sounds

When: 6-8 p.m.

Where: Rockefeller Gardens, 26 Riverside Drive

Details: Grab a lawn chair or blanket and come celebrate summertime with a free night of music, presented by the city of Ormond Beach Department of Leisure Services. This week's band will be Tie Dye Road, a classic rock and blues band. Call 676-3241.

Saturday, July 31

Payit4rward's Fourth-annual Backpack Bash

When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Jackie Robinson Ballpark, 105 E. Orange Ave.

Details: Over 2,000 backpacks and supplies will be distributed to Volusia County children. There will be free hair cuts, face painting, a DJ, games, local vendors and more. Free groceries will be provided by the Daytona Dream Center and free food will be provided by local restaurants, while supplies last. Child must be present. Call 601-1458 or 588-9285.

Slammedenuff Car Show

When: 1-7 p.m. Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, Aug. 1

Where: Ocean Center, 101 Atlantic Ave.

Details: The fourth-annual Slammedenuff car show is now a two-day show. Admission costs $25 for one day; $45 for both days. Visit slammedenuff.com/daytona-beach-2021.html

Monday, Aug. 2

Common Ground meeting

When: 5:15 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Regional Public Library, 30 S. Beach St.

Details: This monthly meeting is meant to assess upcoming topics that locals want to bring to the foreground and have Common Ground facilitate. All topics welcome, and Common Ground will assist in helping to bring all sides to the table. Contact [email protected]

Wednesday, Aug. 11

Holly Hill Mayors' Career Fair

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Sica Hall, 1065 Daytona Ave.

Details: The Holly Hill Chamber of Commerce and Auxilium Manus DEO are sponsoring this career fair. Veterans may pre-register online or at 10 a.m. to attend two career-related seminars from 10:15-10:55 a.m. Doors open at 11 a.m. for veterans; noon for all other career seekers.
