For residents in need of tax forms or income tax preparation assistance, help is available this year at the Palm Coast Branch Library beginning Feb. 16 through mid-April.

Tax preparation services will not be provided at the Government Services Building this year.

“We are happy to be able to provide space to AARP and the United Way so they can assist our residents,” said Library Director Holly Albanese. “This is a valuable service.”

Advance appointments are required.

The United Way Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) will provide free tax services between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning Feb. 16 through Apr. 13. The phone number to make an appointment is 386-253-0564.

Taxes are prepared through AARP IRS-certified Tax-Aide volunteers for low to moderate income individuals and families within Flagler County from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays beginning March 4 through April 15. Age is not a factor, but advance appointments are required, and can be made by calling 386-313-4048.

Additionally, instruction booklets and the 1040 form are available at the Palm Coast Branch Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway NW – at the intersection of Palm Coast and Belle Terre parkways – as well as at the Bunnell Branch Library, 103 E. Moody Boulevard.

“The forms are located on top of the bookcase in front of the reference desk,” Albanese said. “We can also print other forms for 15 cents per page.”
