Saturday, Feb. 6

7th-annual Granada Grand Festival of the Arts

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: New Britain Avenue

Details: Calling all art lovers. The Granada Grand Festival of the Arts, hosted by Ormond Beach MainStreet and the Ormond Beach Arts District, will feature all things art, from visual artists and art demonstrations, to musical performances and hands-on activities for the whole family. This year, the festival is moving to a new location to allow for more spacing. Visit ormondbeachmainstreet.com for an updated schedule of festival events and parking maps. 

Ormond Beach Police open house

When: 11:30 a.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Police Department, 170 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: OBPD is hosting an open house for anyone interested in a career as a law enforcement officer. Participants must either be currently certified in the state, or currently attending the law enforcement academy. Contact [email protected] if interested.

A Woman's World

When: 5-7 p.m.

Where: Ocean Art Gallery, 197 E. Granada Blvd.

Details: Join this local gallery for a night of jewelry, wine and chocolate featuring Flagler Beach jewelry designer Glenda Greenberg. Free event. Open to the public. Call 317-9400.

Virtual garden talk: 'Weeds for your needs'

When: 11 a.m. to noon

Where: Virtual

Details: Join herbalist and author Doug Elliot for this virtual concert of tales, tunes, traditional plant lore, outrageous personal narratives and natural history facts. Donations are accepted. Event will be held over Zoom. Register at ormondartmuseum.org

Halifax Genealogical Society meeting

When: 1:30-2:45 p.m.

Where: Virtual 

Details: Donna Moughty will present, "Saving a Life — Your Family's Health History." Learn how to compile a family health history, including causes of death, that will help you and your family reduce the risk of serious illness. Friday, Feb. 12

Live painting session at Gallery500

When: 5-8 p.m.

Where: Gallery500 at One Daytona, 1870 Victory Circle, suite H810

Details: Gallery500 will host internationally-acclaimed artist Bill Patterson for a live painting of the Gibson G-45 studio guitar that Daytona International Speedway will present to Luke Combs at the pre-race concert during the Daytona 500. Event is open to the public. Additionally, local artist J. Scott Nicol will unveil the painting he completed during a VIP reception on Jan. 29. Call 262-1912.
