Food Brings Hope honored two of its FBHonors Program students for their recent graduations at a recent celebration dinner.

In attendance were FBH CEO and founder Forough Hosseini, Executive Director Judi Winch and VCan2020 Director Michelle Lone, as well as other guests and FBHonors students, a press release stated. The honorees, Mainland High School graduates Jakyra McCloud and Sydney White, have been FBHonors members since fourth grade when the program first started at Westside Elementary.

FBHonors is an after school program that provides academic and personal enrichment opportunities for high-achieving students in FBH's KidsZone and TeenZone programs, according to the press release.

White will be attending Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in the fall, where she will major in business. McCloud will be attending the University of Florida on a scholarship for her academic performance.

Security first reaches milestone

Security First Insurance celebrated its 15th anniversary on Tuesday, July 14, according to a press release.

Headquartered in Ormond Beach since it issued its first homeowner's insurance policy, Security First recently opened its new 136,000 square-foot building at Ormond Crossings to support company growth and provide more amenities to its workforce of over 400 employees.

The company transitioned employees to work from home for three months due to the coronavirus pandemic, and in mid-June, created two groups of employees to work rotational shifts, therefore reducing the number of employees working from their headquarters, the press release states.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to grow our business over the last 15 years to serve more than 250,000 customers located across the state and throughout this pandemic,” said Melissa Burt DeVriese, president of Security First Insurance, in the press release. “Our mission is to be there for our customers, storm after storm, year after year, no matter what kind of storm we face."
