The members of Watson Realty donated a total of $2,500 for groceries and Christmas presents for needy families via their 2019 Christmas Brigade.
"What a remarkable group of folks here at Watson Realty," real estate agent Richard J. DeCeglie wrote in a company newsletter. "This year’s brigade was an amazing success!"
He thanked Nancy Duda and Sabrina Crosby of Flagler County schools, Nadine King of the Christmas Come True charity and Dr. Johnna Mantineo of AdventHealth Flagler for providing families in need for the Christmas Brigade to serve, as well as multiple members of Watson Realty, his sons Thomas and Jonathan DeCeglie and others for doing the gift and grocery shopping and for delivering the goods to the families.
"I especially want to thank those of you for embracing and digging 'very deep' into your pockets for this wonderful endeavor," DeCeglie wrote. “Thinking above and beyond us is an amazing feeling.”
Aimbridge Hospitality has announced it has been chosen to manage the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast.
Located on the Florida Coast and alongside the signature Jack Nicklaus Ocean Golf Course, the newly renovated Hammock Beach Resort features 330 luxury accommodations, including a 198-key boutique hotel, multi-guestroom suites and private villas, making it the perfect destination for golfers, leisure and business travelers.
The resort is owned by KDG Capital. With the addition of Hammock Beach Resort, Aimbridge Hospitality now manages four KDG Capital properties.
Premier Food Trucks, the number one food truck builder in the world, previously known as Project PFT, will be expanding operations in Flagler County. M & M Development will be building PFT’s new facility on Ninth Street in Bunnell. The construction will be completed by the end of summer 2020.
"We are thankful that the city of Bunnell and the Flagler County Department of Economic Opportunity took an interest in our expansion and were able to work together to provide options to make the growth process more affordable," said PFT President Jordan Schild after the Dec. 18 vote by the Bunnell City Commission to adopt Resolution 2019-23, a performance-based business incentive program. "We feel with this move they have become a part of the Premier Food Truck family, and we are honored to bring our business to the city of Bunnell and Flagler County."
"This is our first opportunity to implement the new incentive program that was developed by Dr. [Alvin] Jackson and passed by the Bunnell city commission," said Bunnell Mayor Catherine Robinson. "This is part of our strategic plan. We are excited that we have a new company coming in that is willing to participate in this program."
Along with a new 15,000-square-foot facility, PFT is searching for new employees to fulfill their expanding list of orders. The new jobs will pay an average of $50,000 a year.
"It is always exciting when a business grows within our county," said Donald O’Brien, chair of the Flagler County Department of Economic Opportunity. "PFT is a strong manufacturer with an impeccable reputation. We’re fortunate to have them here."
On Dec. 18, 2019, the Bunnell City Commission adopted Resolution 2019-23 which created a performance-based economic development business incentive program. Success in economic development will expand and diversify the city’s tax base and ensure its long-term financial ability to provide quality services and infrastructure.
The program itself is based on a return on investment by the proposed development. Each application will be reviewed by the city and points calculated based on the program criteria, including the proposed project’s fiscal, community and employment impact to the City. The City Commission considers each application on a case by case basis and only if the City Commission approves the application will a Grant Agreement will be prepared and signed by both parties.
“It’s always pleasure working with the Bunnell team," said Helga van Eckert, executive director of the Flagler County Department of Economic Opportunity. "The city leaders’ approval of this program demonstrates their commitment to new and existing businesses who are looking to invest in the city and grow the economic base.”
“This is one of the points of our Strategic Plan," said Robinson. "Dr. [Alvin] Jackson’s added value to the city has been shown in the development of this incentive program. We are excited to see how this works for our current businesses to expand and those who will be coming to our city in the future.”
